Bloomreach Launches Native WhatsApp Integration For Interactive Messaging
Bloomreach announced on November 5, 2026, a native WhatsApp integration for Bloomreach Engagement that adds interactive message types, real-time event triggers, and built-in campaign analytics. The update replaces the previous integration’s limited message support with a dedicated scenario node, event tracking, and a native interface for creating WhatsApp experiences. Bloomreach’s announcement describes the integration as available inside Engagement for campaign orchestration and reporting. (bloomreach.com)
WhatsApp capabilities added
The integration supports messages up to 4,096 characters, high-resolution images, videos, and GIFs. Teams can also use WhatsApp-specific marketing messages triggered by customer events, although Meta approval is required for those messages. Quick replies support up to three buttons, while interactive menus can provide up to 10 options including links, text, phone numbers, and additional quick replies. (bloomreach.com)
Button selections and customer responses can be captured as first-party data for segmentation, personalization, and recommendation flows. The dedicated mobile messaging node also supports two-way interactions, while WhatsApp activity can be analyzed through reports, funnels, cohort analyses, and other Engagement reporting tools.
Implementation constraints
Access remains package-dependent. The WhatsApp implementation documentation lists Infobip and Sinch as supported providers and says onboarding typically takes three to four weeks. Campaigns require customer opt-in and must follow WhatsApp messaging policies. For US phone numbers using the +1 country code, template messages are not supported, so teams must use MMS or RCS for outbound marketing or rely on customer-initiated conversations.
