Salesforce Rolls Back Agentforce Branding on Core Products Ahead of Dreamforce
Salesforce is rolling back the Agentforce name from several core products, restoring labels such as Sales Cloud and Salesforce Platform ahead of Dreamforce. The change was reported on September 14, 2026, after Salesforce reverted product names on its website, according to The Information’s report on the branding changes.
Salesforce restores Sales Cloud and Salesforce Platform names
Salesforce rebranded Sales Cloud as Agentforce Sales last year, but the flagship sales management product is now being presented as Sales Cloud again. The company is also reverting Headless 360 Platform to Salesforce Platform, according to the report.
The Information said Salesforce added Agentforce to the names of roughly two dozen products last October. The reversal appears to affect product branding rather than the underlying AI capabilities. Agentforce remains the name of Salesforce’s AI platform and agent portfolio.
Live Salesforce pages confirm the Agentforce naming rollback
The Next Web separately checked Salesforce’s live product pages and found Sales Cloud restored as the primary product name, with Agentforce Sales positioned as a capability. Its review also found Salesforce Platform presented under its previous name, while the company’s broader agentic AI messaging remains in place.
That distinction matters for customers and partners. Salesforce is not signaling that its AI products are disappearing. Instead, the company appears to be separating the names of its established business applications from the Agentforce capabilities embedded within them.
Salesforce faces a messaging reset before Dreamforce 2026
The timing makes the change notable. Salesforce is preparing for Dreamforce, which begins on September 15, 2026, after spending much of the past year positioning Agentforce as the central identity of its product portfolio. The company has not publicly explained the reason for the branding reversal.
The move may reflect a practical response to product confusion. Customers already understand names such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Salesforce Platform, while adding Agentforce to each product created another layer of terminology. Restoring the older names could let Salesforce market AI as a capability within familiar applications rather than asking buyers to learn an entirely new product structure.
The shift also comes while Salesforce is reporting rapid Agentforce growth. The Information said Agentforce’s annual contract value exceeded $1.5 billion in the July quarter after growing more than 240% year over year. That suggests the company is not backing away from selling AI, but may be adjusting how prominently the Agentforce label appears across its broader portfolio.
