Adobe confirmed the renaming of Marketo AI to Co-worker for Marketo Engage in an Adobe Experience League Community post published September 21, 2026. The change aligns Marketo’s AI assistant with Adobe’s broader CX Co-worker branding while leaving its core functionality unchanged. (experienceleaguecommunities.adobe.com) A separate CMO AI Signal briefing on the Marketo Co-worker name also documented the transition from Marketo AI to Co-worker for Marketo Engage and identified the product’s lead investigation capability. Adobe confirms the Marketo AI name change on September 21, 2026
The announcement is more than a label update. Adobe is positioning Co-worker for Marketo Engage as a native agent experience inside Marketo rather than as a standalone AI feature layered onto the application.
The assistant is designed to handle selected marketing operations tasks through natural language. Current capabilities discussed in Adobe’s product materials include importing leads, validating programs, investigating why a person did not reach a milestone, and providing product guidance. The September 21 office-hours update specifically described the rebrand as part of the broader CX Co-worker direction.
For existing users, the immediate operational impact should be limited. Adobe said the underlying functionality remains unchanged, so the name change does not by itself require Smart Campaigns, programs, lead-processing rules, or integrations to be rebuilt. The more immediate effect is on how users find, describe, and document the feature.
Co-worker for Marketo Engage changes the product entry point
Adobe also described a related interface change: users are being moved away from the previous chat-first landing experience and into the main Marketo home screen. The office-hours notes say the dedicated landing page is being removed, with future prompts expected to become more contextual to the user’s workspace and instance activity. (experienceleaguecommunities.adobe.com)
That change matters because the entry point influences adoption. A separate AI page makes the assistant feel like an optional tool. Placing it within the primary Marketo workspace presents it as part of normal campaign and marketing operations work.
The distinction is also relevant for access and enablement. Documentation, screenshots, internal runbooks, onboarding material, and training references that still use Marketo AI will become progressively harder to match against the product interface. Teams will need to account for both names during the transition because older implementation notes and user questions may continue to refer to Marketo AI.
The Marketo Co-worker rebrand signals a wider Adobe AI strategy
The timing places the product inside Adobe’s larger CX Co-worker strategy. Adobe’s office-hours material described a future direction in which the Marketo experience can connect with other Adobe applications, including Analytics, Target, and AEM, while retaining Marketo-specific context and controls. That roadmap is not the same as a current cross-application release, but it explains why Adobe is standardizing the Co-worker name now. (experienceleaguecommunities.adobe.com)
For Marketo administrators, the practical implication is to treat the rename as a product-positioning change with documentation consequences, not as a migration event. Existing workflows should continue to be evaluated on their own behavior, while references to Marketo AI should be updated as the Co-worker interface and terminology become the standard.
