Adobe Journey Optimizer Adds Action Level Email Configuration Overrides
Adobe Journey Optimizer added action-level email channel configuration overrides on October 28, 2026. The capability lets journey and campaign actions change selected email settings without requiring a separate channel configuration, as documented in the October 2026 release notes. Email settings can be changed per action
The override controls cover the From name, From email prefix, Reply-to name, Reply-to email, execution address, and List-Unsubscribe values. These fields can use profile attributes or contextual data, allowing one shared channel configuration to support different brands, regions, business units, or sender identities. The configured channel values remain the fallback when an override field is left empty. (experienceleague.adobe.com)
Administrators enable the option after selecting the email configuration for the journey or campaign action. For API-triggered campaigns, contextual attributes are not available in the personalization editor, so implementation teams must enter the expressions manually and ensure that each expression path matches the runtime API payload exactly. Journey Optimizer does not validate that payload structure when the action is configured. More detail is available in the email action configuration documentation. (experienceleague.adobe.com)
