Error: Failed to initiate Data Extension Copy
As Salesforce Marketing Cloud consultants, we experience a variety of issues, some interesting and others very time-consuming. One common issue, especially if you haven’t encountered it before, is when saving or copying data extensions.
When copying data extensions, you might get the following error: “Error: Failed to initiate Data Extension Copy”. You could experience the very same error when creating the data extension from scratch and accidentally giving it a name that already exists. That issue is a thing of the past, but when copying, we still encounter a vague error description that was not updated and can still puzzle consultants in 2024.
