How to Set UTF-8 Encoding in Data Extract Activities in Salesforce Marketing Cloud

When extracting data from Data Extensions in Salesforce Marketing Cloud Automation Studio, you can set the desired output format and change the encoding to your preferred settings. The significant drawback is that if you forget to configure these options initially, you will not be able to modify them later.

Encoding can be set up in the second step of the wizard, where you simply select your desired encoding for the file conversion. The most commonly used encoding nowadays is UTF-8.

UTF-8 is a character encoding standard capable of encoding all possible characters (code points) in Unicode. It is widely used for its compatibility with ASCII and efficiency in representing a vast range of characters from different languages.
